Nope. And neither does a proper shepherd's pie, either, wich should contain lamb or mutton. If you're making it with ground beef, it's a cottage pie. As for the trifle, well . . . the boozy ones are the best! So far, I've utterly enjoyed the ones where the cake layers were soaked in either sherry, or rum, or mead.
