Top Wigs for a Professional Look
Want to find just that perfect blend of fashionable and business for your job interview or your days at the office? It’s time to get a wig that says: “I’m put-together and organized, but I haven’t forgotten how to have fun!”
These wigs will give you confidence in fielding those tough work challenges all day, but they’ll also be great for going out to the bar during that Friday happy hour!
The Ainsley Wig in Harlow Blonde Rooted
This wig is business chic meets Hollywood starlet of the 1920s. With the perfect bob cut and turn under below the jaw, the well-executed layering on this wig frames many face shapes well. Its sports long fringe (7 inches) for that softness and lift along the sides of the cheekbones and come in at 13 inches overall—the ends of the strands hugging the neck just above the shoulders on most people.
The Ainsley is heat friendly up to 350° Fahrenheit, which makes it easy to try out new looks over time if you want to change things up a little.
The warm blonde works well with gold undertones or for anyone who wants to warm up their appearance. Honey blonde roots quickly become cool ash platinum and pale beige blonde for that classic Hollywood look (this color is named after a particular person after all). And, if blonde isn’t the right color for you, this wig is actually available in a huge range of colors that will work well in the office.
The Willow Wig in Black Magic
Because of my pale skin -- yeah, obviously, that's not a picture of me in the Willow 😉 -- I feel a bit like snow white in the large, full-bodied curls of this wig when I wear it in this color. The curls liven the day without coming off as wild or unkempt. And the beautifully rich and soft black / very dark brown blend is a balanced color, meaning it will look good with literally any skin tone or undertone. Obviously, if you have very fair eyelashes or eyebrows, you will want to darken them to match.
Overall, the 14-inch length sits just above (or right at) the shoulder, depending on the length of your neck. The Willow wig is not heat friendly, so you will be committing to a curl when buying this wig, but it really is one of my favorite short curly wigs out there.
Plus, this wig offers an open cap that allows the wig to breathe well for all-day wear, even if you run hot.
The Leighton Wig in Cherrywine Sangria
This unrooted “Balayage” red brings a taste of fun to the office without going overboard. The wig has a dark, auburn-brown base that blends with ruby red and subtle red-violet so that you can achieve a fashion color that’s still natural enough for serious business.
At 20 inches overall (with a charming 5 inch fringe), it’s the longer option on this list. That length will usually end right about mid-shoulder blade.
Partially thanks to the length, and partly due to the beautifully styled waves, this is a wig works that for all face shapes! And the style is so lovely, you won’t be sad that this one is not heat friendly.
Though the wig is red, it looks best on those with cool undertones to their skin, such as pink, blue, purple, green, or grey.
The Vaughn Wig in Tahitian Sunset Rooted
So, I’m putting two red wigs on this list -- two in a row, no less! But I couldn’t help it. They’re both so gorgeous, and they’re very different shades of red. The Tahitian Sunset Rooted red is an undeniably eye-catching color, and yet it’s still within the range of natural colors. The dark auburn roots melt into a coppery red, cascading in a pin-straight fall that ends in an A-line cut just below the shoulders (14 inches overall, with a 5.5 inch fringe).
This is the straightest wig on this list. And I love the straightness. But if you want to try out something a little wavier, you can because the Vaughn wig is heat-friendly up to 350° Fahrenheit.
Tahitian Sunset Rooted is a great color for anyone with gold undertones, but it can also warm up cooler undertones out there. And the color and cut combination is work-appropriate while maintaining some charming slinky minx qualities as well.
The Charisma Wig in Chocolate Icing Rooted
This wig is an easy-to-maintain choice that can be swept back and mussed up for more flare or tamed to a classically layered look. It’s perky and fun while staying totally presentable, and it can be heat-styled up to 350° Fahrenheit, which gives you even more freedom to play.
The dark brown roots become a medium, chocolate brown with subtle platinum highlights for a dynamic blend that stays well on the natural end of the color spectrum. It looks great with cool undertones.
With an overall length of 11 inches, it stops above the shoulder with a nice swoop in below the jawline that works to frame most face shapes well. And the back has a significantly layered nape that I just love.
I hope you found something you love amongst those options. Feel free to visit Hair Kitty Kitty for even more wig choices!
